ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC INDUSTRY
APPLICATIONS
Our vanadium pentoxide is used for
- Passive components in electronics. A key ingredient for efficient and small ferrites.
- Batteries for use in the field of medicine, e.g. defibrillators for cardiac patients.
- The production of ultra-pure vanadium metal coating for processor chips as soldering aids.
- The production of thick-film
electrodes for blood analysis.
Vanadium sulfate produced by
GfE Metalle und Materialien is the starting substance for
large current-capacity batteries. For these vanadium redox batteries we
produce solutions in suitable concentrations and valencies.
Our lithium vanadate has been developed for the use in rechargeable batteries
in mobile devices (mobile phones, laptops etc.) and for vehicle power engines.
This way a high storage density and a long life cycle are achieved.
Ammonium metavanadate is
one starting substance for yttrium vanadate. Yttrium vanadate doped with
europium (red phosphor) is used in high-pressure mercury lamps as luminescent material
on the inside of the light bulb. In this way the light spectrum of the mercury
lamps (green-blue) is complemented by short wave radiation of red parts and
becomes white light.
The highest level of purity must be maintained for this optical application. GfE Metalle und Materialien guarantees this level of purity. Pure white light is achieved using our vanadium chemicals.
