PAINT AND CERAMICS INDUSTRY

APPLICATIONS

The primary colors blue and yellow for ceramic containers and tiles are manufactured as pigments from vanadium chemicals and other metal oxides such as zirconium oxide and tin oxide.

For the special composition of the pigment production, GfE Metalle und Materialien offers products according to the requested specifications, e.g. for the production of bismuth orthovanadate as a lightfast and temperature resistant yellow pigment in varnishes and plastics.

Depending on the degree of oxidation and mixed with other metal oxides, vanadium develops a wide range of colors in its compounds according to the individual composition. In addition it replaces harmful components such as cadmium, lead or diazo compounds in paints.
